With its sharply raked mast and its distinctive hull shape the Skipjack used to be a familiar sight in the late 19th Century in Long Island Sound and the Chesapeake Bay. Sailing out to harvest the extensive oyster beds or just going fishing they had a reputation for being fast and reliable under all types of weather. Local waters could be quite rough and choppy…Hand crafted of all wood parts, wood hull, brass hardware and hand stitched and distressed cotton sails.
