Count Carlo Goldoni lived in the beautiful Palazzo Zantani in downtown Venice. He wrote over 250 comedies, many based on Commedia Dell' Arte characters. The Count was reputed to have his writing styluses ordered from the most skilled glass artist in Murano, where the Venetian glass industry was located since the 13th Century.
