WHITE STAR HANGER

Transatlantic White Star Line competed with Cunard for the Blue Riband, the honor for the fastest crossing between Europe and the USA. In the early 20th C. White Star became infamous for the disaster of the Titanic, the largest steam ship at it’s time, reputed unsinkable. It went down after a collision with a stray iceberg. The story goes that the dance orchestra kept playing while the vessel went down. In it’s heyday White Star steamers were favored by Hollywood stars and Robber Barons alike.  Soon after the Titanic disaster White Star merged with  Cunard  and it's name a thing of the past.
